I knew you were kidding about this part (albeit not about the framed copy of
the vinyl on my wall, alas)...

...but I thought you were serious on this point! I'm with Brad, anyhow - I'll
buy that albums originally designed for vinyl often sound better on vinyl than
CD (a problem compounded by years of poorly and/or lazily remastered CD
reissues), and even some late 80s stuff sounds better on vinyl than CD, but
that since the early 1990s most recordings sound just fine, if not better, on
CD. If you think the vinyl of TELEVISION sounds better (which I realize you,
Leo, probably don't, but I'm using it as an example) then you're being wowed
over by the hum of your turntable or the phono preamp in your receiver. (Insert
"wow and flutter" pun here).

Not that it isn't a *nice* hum, of course!
