Thought Greg Might or Should Know Chords / RE: (TV) WTF, Tom?
Hi Greg,
Glad you're still posting.
I thought that if anyone could answer Rex's original question [see below in
case you missed it] about the mysterious, wonderful [thunderous?] opening
chords to 'There's A Reason" it might be Greg Grant since you covered this
very song on one of the Marquee Moon List's infamous Television/Verlaine
Tribute cds.
Also:
I saw a Canadian pressing of Dreamtime on E-bay yesterday, but I didn't buy
it. Why not? Because I already have one from years ago :>)(as well as a
great sounding Japanese pressing) .... albeit the 2005[?] Collector's Choice
remastered digital version sounds great too.
Last but not least:
RE your and Keith's " ...And the/noises/!...."
What would you expect of an album that contains a song named 'A Future In
Noise.'

hearing the opening of "There's A Reason", which was the first
Television-related recording I ever heard, I was immediately forced to
wonder... what the HELL are those chords? The really high ones that hit on
the 3 of each measure in the intro and verse? I really have no idea. They
sound vaguely Hendrix-y, but if Hendrix was even more of alien being that he
was. Any ideas?"

Ah, my favourite TV album. I play it more than Marquee
Moon. It's the
perfect blend of energy, art and invention. And the/noises/!
