Guys,

I don't think he has a middle-age 'paunch' as you say.  Yeah, he's not as thin
as he used to be but his stomach doesn't  like 'stick-out'.  And there's a
painting behind him that blends in w/ his black t-shirt, so I guess it makes
him appear wider than he really is.

But like Phil says, he is 60+...cut him some slack.

It's a trick played by the ceiling spot-light.... but more freaky is that he
seems to have put
on about 75 pounds!
Maybe he's been living on Krespie Cremes, or Jutta's quite the cook?
