picked up that cold sun cd that i read about here -- agree it is very good, better than the elevators. also anni rossi (the ep is better than the full-length, imo), the new-ish buddy holly 2cd set (some great stuff -- all the sappy overdubs taken off). also, an embarassing amount of really old linda ronstadt -- my car sounds like something out of "a mighty wind" as i wind down the road. balancing that with another guilty purchase, "younger, louder, and snottier." guilty because those boys were just so bad...
