(TV) what do the silver apples and the donnas have in common?

i don't know much about either, but have tix for
upcoming shows.  in fact i've gone on a ticket-buying
frenzy, and have plans for a bunch of upcoming artists
(some famous, some unheard of) that i hardly know. 
anyone here have thoughts on any of these?

silver apples 
dark meat (ex-neutral milk hotel, but no jeff)
magnolia electric co.
yo lo tengo
amiina (sigur ros' string section)
the donnas

also just booked a room at the carlton arms for new
year's weekend, in the hopes patti will book at the
bowery ballroom again.  if not i'll be seeing dick
clark, or is it ryan seacrest?  or maybe passed out
drunk at scott's place...
