I like both versions of Television, what I meant is I can't speak for others 
taste. The people that held that view were fans of Television from very 
early on and did enjoy the Hell songs that Television did as much if not 
more than the Verlaine songs. And they weren't particularly Voidoids fans. 
Trust me I've heard the Hell era recordings and actually like Richard's bass 
playing and Fred Smith did too. Fred ruined the spirit of the early 
Television to THEM, not me, probably by playing too well. A lot of the early 
Hell recordings with Television you hear the band out of tune and more 
chaotic, these particular fans liked that.
