For some reason my daughter, for years after she learned to pronounce almost
everything correctly, would still call a guitar a "dakar".  Maybe it was a
sly defiance of how large guitars loom in my life.  But she has it right
now, and can even play a little ukulele, so we're getting there.  My
9-year-old stepdaughter is tearing up her six-string uke these days... it's
cool.
