While I cannot see Richard setting up bowling pins, from the writing on
his website and an interview and other discussions my friend Bernie and I
had with him some years ago(*), it's clear that he's definitely into the
mystic, and trying to reconcile his spiritual life with his physical,
performing life.

My personal belief is that Man is incapable of beginning to understand the
nature of a Supreme Being, if one exists, so anyone claiming to know the
ways of, and especially speak for, It is full of $#it. That said, people
who turn that quest inward and use it to try and achieve a deeper
understanding of themselves and their fellow man seem to have an inner
peace that I, for one, seriously lack.

So if Richard feels that it's appropriate to open a show on a spiritual
note, I'm not going to argue, and I may even gain some small measure of
enlightenment. Who knows?
