I was a year late picking up on Television - I was living in the provinces of SW Virginia, punk rock was just a rumor; a friend brought over his new copy of adventure, 'you've gotta hear this' - and as the needle hit the red vinyl and the dual chiming guitars of Glory rang out, that preposterous but oddly moving voice singing; it sounded ancient and right up to date at once - I was hooked.
We were into prog rock, and jazz fusion, and things like that then; the way my friend had found out about them was through reading a five-star review in that most un-punk, un-rock of publications - Downbeat.
About a week later, we discovered there was this other Television album.
