at least the clash -- or at least their manager -- had
the sense to avoid donning swastikas. of course,
before johnny thunders, sid, siouxie, the dead boys et
al picked that crap up, keith moon, david bowie and
brian jones -- those old rock and roll rotters -- had
all made use of nazi symbols. small point maybe, but
something i give the clash credit for avoiding. it's
an element within rock culture i have just never
understood.
