I really should recuse myself from this discussion, but I have to voice some appreciation for these analyses. The point was twofold: 1) a friend jokingly challenged me to do it (and--just perfect--forgot about his quip, so when I played it for him, he said, "Wow, great, what's the source material?"), and 2) to have the appropriate response to anyone shouting out "Freebird" at any show I did. (This second aim was less successful--once I finished it, I had to plant a shill in the audience.)
The followup project might be to somehow isolated the few bits of, say, "Marquee Moon" which actually *do* suck, and demonstrate that even they are in fact still freakin' awesome.
