Just to be clear - what I said was :

"I listened and I actually could here several similarities."

The similarities to my ear are the staccato "angular" guitar explosions and what seemed like dual guitar lines as well as some modal sounding scales. 

What I believe is that two artists can be very similar and never have had any contact similar in some respects to how two cultures can be similar ( say the Mayans and the Egyptians ) and never have had contact.
