Marty Thau is a record producer, manager, etc., dating back to the
60s or so. He managed the New York Dolls during their peak (72/73 or
so). He launched Red Star records in 1977 and issued stuff by
Suicide, the Real Kids, etc., and later (in 1982) Hell signed with
him for DESTINY STREET. Apparently, it was not a good relationship.
As I recall, at the end of "Memo to Marty", there's an adlibbed line
about "blue dwarf" - wordplay on "red star" - that made it legally
dangerous to keep the song around...
