RE: (TV) third album
I heard "1880 Or So" on the radio this morning!
If god is going to bless anything it oughta be community radio. Fight for
the airwaves, they still belong to you.

Verlaine's songwriting and vocal style had changed a lot between 1978
and 1992 - check out THE WONDER, which is pretty close to the 1992 TV
album - and at first listen, it threw me too. I remember thinking,
"Is this Lou Reed??" But I really love the delicate guitar work on
much of that record, and the only out-and-out weak tracks (to my
ears) are "The Rocket" and "Rhyme", two songs that became the most
improved in a live setting.
Glad you like "Mars" - I've always loved Verlaine's over-the-topness
in this final cut.
