Etta Baker is an incredible Piedmont Blues player. There is an NPR 
profile of her at 
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4536802 with some 
Real Audio clips. Even if you don't like the Piedmont Blues style I 
think you'll admire her ability to play. She's in her 80s and just did 
an album with Taj Mahal.
