(TV) mostly ot: end of the century / donna gaines

just watched the new ramones documentary on dvd -- now
on sale at your local record store.  by the end i had
returned to the conviction i held when i was 12 -- the
ramones are the greatest rock and roll band ever.

there is some footage of television post-hell, and
some of hell with the heartbreakers.  in an interview,
dee dee says he really loved television.  of course
you'd expect this from the "smart" ramone...

and has anyone read donna gaines' memoir, "a misfit's
manifesto"?  i looked for it after reading the
ramone's bio "hey ho, let's go", in which she is
referenced.  i really loved this book, and in many
ways identified with her story, although my background
is altogether dissimilar.

gaines, btw, concurs with keith in the opinion that
patti smith is an annoying blowhard.  now, where you
guys get that impression, i'll never know...
