Sorry for the delay, I feel self conscious posting here, some of you are
awesome musicians, and I'm a lame ass dilettante, but there you go...the
band is called (stuck with) Boxcar Collision and we have a little myspace
page -
http://www.myspace.com/boxcarcollision
and a mailing list -
http://lists.bigdayphoto.com/mailman/listinfo/boxcarites
Anyway, the only one of us who's ever played in a band before is our
drummer...I (guitar/songwriting) had never even played with other musicians
before I started jamming around with the bass player and drummer last year.
We've played a few parties, did The Grog a couple of times in November and
December, took off a couple of months to write and now we're looking for
gigs again. We've had a couple of offers to play DC9, the Velvet lounge, but
nothing in stone yet. We also applied to play a music festival in April, and
I sent a letter to the manager of Iota to let us open up for Betty Serveert.
Total ridiculous longshot, but I love that band, and last time they had a 2
piece surf combo open for them. I figure if they can do it, why not us?
