Are you asking if Holdsworth is good? I haven't heard this particular collection, but I have more than a dozen of Holdsworth in my collection, and if you like jazz-rock, he is an F'ing god! No one plays like him. But he is nothing like Verlaine, to me.
Do you remember Jonathan Swifts in Harvard Square? I saw Holdsworth there on my birthday in '84, with Jeff Berlin on bass, I believe.
