What else are people listening to?
Son House: The Original Delta Blues - worth 1,000 Clapt-out records. If
your neck-hair don't rise to Death Letter then you're lost already,
really.
Joe Meek: The Alchemist of Pop: Home Made Hits and Rarities 1959-1966 -
fabulous 2 CD collection of stuff recorded in a tiny flat over a leather
shop in the Holloway Road. Peerless.
The Cure: Pornography. Not miserable enough, really...
Various Peter Hammill/Van der Graaf Generator records - a band I
haven't seen for 29 years but which is reuniting for a one-off gig in
London in May. And we got tickets! Beyond Prog, beyond description,
almost beyond all reason.
Interpol: Turn On The Bright Lights (thanks to various on this list) -
which is great but reminded me so much of The Chameleons that I've been
back there too, to Strange Times, their best moment.
McDonald and Giles - which the duo made after appearing on the first
King Crimson record. Very English whimsical stuff. Best heard under the
influence of something which, indeed, it usually was.
