Re: (TV) Pan of Adventure
Trivia point 2: I remember Burchill's review of The Banshees' 'The
Scream'.
She went on and on in the review about the band being Nazi's and
talking about a song which didn't even appear on the album ('Love In A
Void'). In truth, the original lyrics did have a pretty nasty/purile line, but
they'd alread changed it and it never appeared in the Peel session
version or the later single release.
She also deliberately ignored the fact that the song 'Metal Postcard'
was inspired by and dedicated to John Heartfield, the anti-Nazi
German collage artist of the 1930's.
Never let the truth get in the way of a good rant, Julie. Crap journalist
then, crap today.
Got a couple of good stories about Babara Ellen and Nick Kent.
