I honestly couldn't pick between Bryter Layter and Pink Moon.  Each 
one's damned close to perfect in its own way, although BL has a few 
more uptempo songs ("Hazy Jane II" and "Northern Sky," for instance) 
and full arrangements, while PM is more introverted, shorter, and is 
largely just Nick and guitar.  I'd say it'd depend which kind of 
thing you were feeling more of a pull toward.
