Ah the Captain ! Ry Cooder does play all over that record and actually, one
of my favorite alltime Beefheart songs is "Sure enough and Yes I do"  -
which features some of the coolest slide work I've ever heard. And it's not
all that fancy either but that song has such a F*&k'n great beat, it's just
ensemble greatness ! I hadn't heard that Beefheart was displeased by "Safe
As Milk". Too commercial ? Not commercial enough ? Check out this beefheart
