Wisconsin was/is 'near' Chicago?

How far approximately is Madison from

Someine just wrote to say that the list of gigs on The Wonder is
incomplete because they saw Television "in a small club somewhere near
Chicago, in the summer of 1978."

Anyone know where or when this could have been?
