Re: (TV) NME top albums ever
In Britain , and the NME in particular , they hold Stone Roses responsible
for single handedly saving guitar music . When they emerged , the UK guitar
scene was non existant and the chart was dominated by dullards like Rick
Astley etc . There was no good guitar music at all , and they stepped
forward with a 'hint' of attitude ( throwing paint on their record companys
office is hardly Iggy Pop ) and suddenly became gods and saviours .
They certainly dont warrant the No.1 spot and yet they consistently make it
in England .
There are many other better claims in my opinion
