RE: (TV) Verlaine & Patti smith
Robin,
There's a bootleg made in Berlin[?]
which I own of the 1998[?] Smith Tour
on which for many dates Lenny Kaye was
absent and Verlaine filled in on lead.
It's spectacular.
I was going to say how I think Kaye's playing
in general is pretty pedestrian and prone
to guitar cliches but didn't want to
offend and Kaye nuts since I'm such a nice guy.
Leo
ps: there's also the 1975 Hey Joe EP with Verlaine.

lou): are there any recordings around of the shows
where tom played with patti? i asked on babel-list
and didn't get any response.
