Hi all-I belong to the Peter Laughner Yahoo group and I posted the question over there. Here was the first response:
I've always heard stories that he was a member of Television for a really brief time. The most recent mention was Jimmy Zero being quoted in John Petkovic's recent article (it's posted at http://www.handsomeproductions.com ) that Peter passed the audition for Television but didn't want to move to NYC permanently.
