RE: (TV) Joe Strummer RIP
Last time I saw Strummer he was on Television and he looked
very unhealthy--puffy face, heavy like Roy Orbison before he died as
if he was living on cheeseburgers.
First time I ever saw him was at a Clash concert in Jan 1978
at the old Harvard Square movie. Clash were great despite playing too
loud for the theater's old distorted sound system--Bo Diddley was
the opening act.
Realise this discussed on list in past, but to help me
avoid going to MM archives, did Strummer sell rights to
a Clash song(s) for the infamous car commercial, or did the
rights to song(s) already belong to another party at that time?

This is just really sad. 50 is quite young for someone to succumb to
a heart attack. Such a shame.
