when I said they were not factually incorrect I meant it humourously, the thing is you CAN put almost any band in that bracket - to me they sound f#ck all like television (altho a lot of lazy music journalists do - "they sound like television and the stooges" was the most popular thing to say - and they definately sound f#ck all like the stooges), I'd lump them in with what was called 'the new wave of new wave' several years ago, a handy grouping of bands inspired by an imitation of a shadow of punk rock (whatever that is) like 'these animal men' and 'smash' - to me thats how I'd describe them to someone I knew
the thing is, these bands were genuinley exciting to watch and were lyrically a bit more inspired
