listening to "warm and cool" today, which makes me
think of jazz.  and remembering a bio that described
tv as "raised on jazz".  the coltrane group i'm a
member of is about to launch a *remarkable* 11 disc
albert ayler tree, thoughtfully compiled and well
documented.  thought some mm folks might be
interested; if so, let me know and i'll forward info
as it's released.

ayler was an inspiration to john coltrane in his
late-stage experimentation.  both of them did stuff in
the 60's -- ayler beginning in the early 60's -- that
no one has matched.  really, really incredible stuff
if you've got an ear for something different.

p.s. -- patti smith's mom beverly has died, at 82. 
some of you may have had correspondence with her over
the years.
