Oops, Maurice, I misread your quiz question. Yeah Pynchon is quoted 
numerous
times in "Positively 4th Street". I thought he was supposed to be really
reclusive ? Is he still like that ?

Apparently not.  He just doesn't like to be photographed.  People have to 
go by a high school year book photo of him.  But if you know what Pynchon 
looks like, you may catch him picnicing in Central Park with his family or 
all over town.
