(TV) Clapton/Townsend/King bashing
>He plays boring, pedestrian BB King crap

While I will admit that Clapton is looong past his peak (and currently more
so, to the point of being ridiculous and embarrassing), you shouldn't
discount the great work he did with John Mayall and Cream. Cream didn't
really have a great album, per se, but some very good tracks, and the
Bluesbreakers album is a classic. Very interesting stuff on both records.
Also, although I don't care about Clapton-bashing, bashing B. B. King,
however in passing, is just plain wrong. Sure, the guy does a few Burger
King commercials now and then. And yes, in some ways he commercialized the
blues -- even if that was necessary to SAVE them. But there is no way you
can say the man is not a good guitar player, an innovative musician, or
anything close. Listen to an album like Indianola Mississippi Seeds and
tell me the man didn't know what playing music was all about.
Sorry about that, but this is what happens when the soapbox has long-since
been stapled to your shoes...
