wow, i'm amazed that s/k are "just a local band"
anywhere -- to the rest of the world they're the
saviours of rock and roll!  i mean, i like em fine,
but the way some behave you'd think they cured cancer.
 

i think quasi have some patina because of the s/k
connection, but i've also read comparisons btwn quasi
and ben folds 5 (though bf can actually write songs,
which is more than one can say for sam coomes) and
they've gotten good press out here.  why, i don't
know.
