(TV) "Smoother Than Jones" - the 'A' version?

Hi all,

In the JUST THE FACTS discography for Tom Verlaine's official releases at
http://www.marquee.demon.co.uk/facts/index.htm, it lists at entry as:

A Town Called Walker / Smoother Than Jones / Smoother Than Jones (The 'A'
Version) / Caveman Flashlight
(12", 1987)

Does anyone know how "Smoother Than Jones (The 'A' Version)" differs from the
regular b-side version?

The discography also mentions "Let Go the Mansion (The 'A' Version)", which
I've never heard of. It also calls the b-side "Paris version" of "The Scientist
Writes a Letter" "The 'A' Paris version", which makes me think there might be
some misnaming in there...

Still, if anyone knows of an alternate "Smoother Than Jones" on a 12", I'd be
interested to know about it.
