Now, my question is, what can we do to get more of the lurkers involved in the
conversation? Hmmmm?
How about the ever-popular "tell us about bands/CDs you've been
enjoying lately that we might not know about" icebreaker?
Currently digging:
Greg Grant's _The Disappearance_, hitting me in that Warm and Cool way...
Muddy Frankenstein's _Dance With Evil_: Stooges/MC5...from Japan!

disclosure: the label guy's a friend of mine...but this CD is
glorious.)
Silkworm! The quartet-era stuff is great, and the new one,
Lifestyle, is an instant classic. http://www.silkworm.net/
We Are Vikings, some great songwriters in the DC area.
Rough-around-the-edges pretty pop tunes...with vocal harmonies!

And there's this Wavewalkers band in England that has some mighty
good stuff. Gorgeous Web site, too.

And Joel RL Phelps/The Downer Trio's whole ouvre, but _3_ really does
it for me. Sparse, open, slightly countrified sadcore. Beautiful.
So what are the lurkers listening to?
