bjork is especially fresh in my mind because i just
saw _dancer in the dark_ -- i can certainly understand
why the film has been regarded as "emotional rape" by
a few critics (as an audience member i felt like a
voyeur), but at the same time her performance was
marvelous.

i heard a live tape a while ago when she sang lead on
"he's my star" from _junior citizen_.  she has a cute
voice, kinda like naomi yang crossed
with...er...someone more forceful.   
 
the one i forgot -- that all you vu-heads keep
forgetting, too -- is mo tucker.  she rocks.  another
fave of mine is isobel from bardo pond, who had more
depth than i would have guessed.  oh!  and debby
schwartz!  her oldband can best be described as a
cross btwn aimee mann and the feelies.
