I was beginning to wonder if I had gotten "unsubscribed" by accident.
I was getting the missives fast & furiously 'til yesterday & then...
nothing for an entire day. C'est la vie?
I was thinking of the time I saw Tom Verlaine at Tramps on 21st St.,
when it was still there. Oh what an exquisite experience it was.
Afterwards, I looked for months for him to reappear but alas, he
did not return. It's so great to see 2 guitar players work TOGETHER.
It must have been 10 years ago, at least, but it seems like only
yesterday. I was no more than 20 feet from the stage & seeing a
real band in a small club like that can't be beat. I saw the
Neville Brothers some time before that &, again, it was magical.
I never got to see them again either. Altho I did get to hear Tom
play with Patti Smith at the Beacon & he out shined 'em all.
Enough, I begin to ramble!

ps. anyone know why Tom's recording career has been on vacation
so long?
