(TV) Unreleased Verlaine

The last time I spoke to Tom I asked him about one of my favorite songs,
a song about a woman who seldom calls him anymore. One line is, "No
ringy dingy. I'm here in Sing Singy." (Sing-Sing is a famous prison in
upstate NY). He told me the title was "Bells". I think he played the
song live only once, at Tramps in 1996. I hope the song eventually sees
the light of day, along with my other unreleased favorite, "The Man in
the Back Yard". Tom will be amused if you request "The Man In the Back
Yard" in Boston in February. He might even bark like a dog, like he did
at the Bowery Ballroom in October 1998. I think he could find a way to
work it into the avant garde soundtrack music.

"There's a man in the back yard. Why aren't the dogs barking?"
