Just looked at the Stiff records site http://www.bestiff.demon.co.uk/

Not too much there but I now remember a) it was Lene Lovich (who actually
had a UK hit with ...... ?) and b) either Jane Aire or Mickey Jupp

Anyway it was one or the other and not the Waitresses

As far as I know, the film was never released (made ?) There is certainly no
mention of it on the Stiff site.
