Here's where my philistinism becomes apparent.  I've never heard of 
the Monks.  Anyone up for giving those of us in the dark a brief 
primer on them?  (Hmmm.  Maybe I have heard of them--were these the 
guys who gave themselves tonsures?  All or most of them American 
military stationed in Europe?)
