I tried like hell to put a different spin on Prove It.
I had an electronic-ish version that just wasn't very good,
but put me into a different framework for trying new sounds.

Every attempt I made at vocals that didn't sound like
Tom *sucked*.  There's a definite "voice" to Tom's songs
that's  built into the phrasing and the melody.

There's another datapoint to be had - Greg Grant just uploaded
"Postcards from Waterloo."  He couldn't get very far from the
TomSound (tm) either :)  This tune should be downloadable from the
website soon.
