I believe the bidder is an employee of experience.org, the Hendrix/music
interactive museum that is being built (both on-line and in Seattle) and is
principally backed by Paul Allen, one of the founders of Microsoft. 

So, possibly, the guitar is about to become a museum piece - not a bad fate.
