In a nutshell, RL says that the G is problematic because
of the tempered tuning guitars use.  He offers a new method
of tuning a guitar (not a new tuning, but a new way of tuning
the strings to themselves) that tries to take this into account.

This is a great piece that all guitarists should take a loook
at!
